A Father’s Poem to His Wife and Son
And I see your love. In it. With it. In her. In him. In them. And it’s you. You are there, Always. It’s so warm. It fills my heart. It fills my soul. Then you smile. You smile at her, And she smiles at you. She smiles at you, And you smile back. And that’s it. That’s love. That’s real love. The whole thing, Captured In a single moment. A moment That fills everything. A moment That is complete. Yet there is one missing piece. I’m not there. But I chose her. Because she carries you. And one day, You’ll carry her. When the time comes, You’ll be there. Because that’s what love does. Because you are full of it. Because it lives within you. Because you are part of her, Just as you are part of me. And she is wonderful. That is my greatest blessing. To have you. To have her. To carry both of you In my heart, And forever In my seed.
